Media Wall Installation in Fife

A media wall gives the TV, fire, speakers and storage one proper home, and turns a plain living room wall into the feature of the room. We design and build custom media walls across Fife, from our workshop in Kelty, for homes in Kelty, Dunfermline, Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Inverkeithing, Rosyth, Kinross and the villages in between.

Media Walls Designed Around Your Room and Your TV

Every media wall we build starts with the things that have to go in it: the size of the TV and its bracket, whether there’s an electric fire, where the soundbar and consoles sit, and how the cables will run. Getting those right first is what stops a media wall looking like a box stuck on a wall.

The frame is built in timber, sheeted and finished to suit the room, with recesses cut accurately to the TV and fire. Shelving can be lit with LED strips, slatted panels add warmth and texture, and cupboards keep routers and boxes out of sight. The result looks built in, because it is.

Most media walls are finished in a single day or two on site once the design is agreed, and we leave the room clean and ready for the TV to go up. If you’d rather keep the chimney breast, we can build fitted units into the alcoves either side instead.

About the workshop

A Media Wall Built Properly, Not Just Boxed In

Media walls get a bad name when they’re thrown up quickly: cracked joints, a recess that doesn’t fit the TV, an electric fire with nowhere for the heat to go. We build on a solid timber frame, follow the fire manufacturer’s clearance and ventilation guidance, and plan access so cables and equipment can be changed later without pulling anything apart.

Because we’re a small local business, the person who measures up is the person who builds it, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the finished wall.

Who It's For

Which Media Wall Suits Your Home

Most people come to us wanting one of two things: a full-height feature wall with a TV and fire, or something simpler and lighter that tidies up the TV area without taking over the room.

Full-Height Media Walls

Floor to ceiling, with a recessed TV, inset electric fire, shelving either side and optional LED lighting. The biggest visual impact for a living room.

Floating & Alcove TV Units

Wall-hung units or fitted alcove cupboards that hide the cables and equipment, a lighter option for smaller rooms or period chimney breasts.

What Goes Into a Media Wall Build

We visit, measure the wall and talk through the TV size, fire model, storage and lighting. You get a clear written quote with the design and timescale. On the day, we build the frame, form the recesses, sheet and finish the wall, route the cables and fit any shelves or panels. Painting can be included or left for you to decorate.

Popular extras include slatted timber or acoustic panels, LED-lit shelves, hidden cupboards for consoles, and a recessed soundbar shelf. Every wall is different, so every quote is individual.

FAQ

Frequently Ask Questions.

Can’t see your question? Drop a note in the enquiry form and we’ll come back the same day.

How long does it take to build a media wall?

Most media walls are built in one to three days on site, depending on size, fire and finish.

Can you fit an electric fire in the media wall?

Yes. Inset electric fires are built in following the manufacturer’s clearance and ventilation guidance. Choose the fire before the build so the recess is made to suit.

Will the cables be hidden?

Yes. Cable routes are planned into the frame so the TV, soundbar and consoles connect without visible wires.

Do you mount the TV as well?

Yes. We can supply and fit the bracket and mount the TV once the wall is finished. See our TV wall mounting service.

Which areas of Fife do you cover?

We cover Kelty, Dunfermline, Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Inverkeithing, Rosyth, Kinross and the villages in between.
